Oliver Wilson finished 10th in the European Tour’s Johnnie Walker Classic this weekend clinching an automatic place on Europe’s Ryder Cup team. Joining him are captain Nick Faldo’s two picks–Ian Poulter and Paul Casey. Notably missing this year is Colin Montgomerie, a Ryder Cup veteran who’s having a challenging season.
Rounding out Team Europe are Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jimenez,
Graeme McDowell, Justin Rose, and Soren Hansen.
Team USA captain, Paul Azinger will make his two picks on Monday to finalize his team.
What They’re Wearing at the US Open
June 14, 2008 by Sandy Mitchell
Golf fashion is known for being colorful and flamboyant and the players’ outfits at the US Open don’t disappoint. Among the most interesting are:
British golfer, Ian Poulter is known for his outlandish fashion. Not every golfer could pull off the pink shirt and plaid pants, but somehow it works on him.
Rocco Mediate is looking good to lead the open (he’s just one stroke behind Appleby going into round three), but not so good in the sweater vest. Best to leave the vests to the under-25 crowd.
Round 3 at the Masters: Young Players Dominate

Trevor Immelman and Brandt Snedeker continued to play solid golf in round three of the Masters, while veterans Ian Poulter and Phil Mickelson had disappointing +3 rounds. Tiger Woods had one of the best days on the course, finishing with a -5 for the day. It’s exciting to see the young players leading the tournament, but don’t count Tiger out yet.
