Big Break X Debuts on Tuesday

The Golf Channel’s popular reality show, “The Big Break” will debut its tenth season on Tuesday at 10pm. This time the contestants are couples…all sorts of couples. The eight men and eight women on the show include a married couple, rival college golf coaches, and a boyfriend/girlfriend combination. Among them is PGA pro, Brandt Snedeker’s brother, Haymes. The group will compete for an exemption for the LPGA or PGA tour as well as other prizes.

Kim Welch Wins “Big Break”

In case you weren’t watching, Kim Welch beat out French golfer, Sophie Sandolo to win the Golf Channel’s “Big Break Kaanapali” reality golf competition. The prize package isn’t too shabby, possibly worth putting up with all of the cattiness this season.
Welsh wins entry into the 2008 Navistar LPGA Classic, which is being held in Prattville, Alabama September 25-28. She also gets a 2009 Futures Tour Card with all of the entry fees waived, a 2008 BMW Z4 coupe, and an Adams Golf endorsement that includes $10,000 in cash.

Big Break Kaanapali Begins

The ninth installment of the popular Golf Channel reality series, “Big Break,” begins tonight at 10pm ET. This time the cast is women, some with experience on the Futures and European tours. The twelve golfers will be competing for an exemption for an LGPA Tour event as well as cash, a car, and other prizes. The action all takes place in Maui.

Se Ri Pak surprised everyone by coming from behind to win in a playoff in the LPGA McDonalds Championship on Sunday. Pak defeated Karrie Webb on the first playoff hole by sticking her 2nd shot about three inches from the pin. Webb could have extended the playoff by making her birdie attempt, but it was not to be for the surging Webb. This was definitely like old times with Pak and Webb going head-to-head in the playoff; the only thing missing to make it complete was Annia Sorenstam.
