Celebs On Tour
Okay, maybe I’m watching too much of the Golf Channel, but enough of Las Vegas lounge lizard Danny Gans already. He was funny the first time, but now it’s just annoying to see Rich Lerner fawn all over Gans at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Yes, it’s the celebrities that make the fans come out and buy tickets to these events, but this generation of TV stars and comedians don’t hold a candle to the celebs of the past.
Ray Romanao, Kevin James, Danny Gans? Sounds like an accounting firm. Bill Murray is over the top sometimes, but seems to have backed it down a little this year, and George Lopez has potential to get it right, but even the poor-kid-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-barrio can get tiresome. Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Jack Lemmon. Yes, the bar has been raised high by those guys, but they have a legacy that will endure forever.
Back to our regularly scheduled blog though. Phil Mickelson is on the verge of finally playing well for a full tournament and is tied with Kevin Sutherland for the lead heading into tomorrow’s final round at Pebble Beach.
