October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM). Started by First Lady Betty Ford, a breast cancer survivor herself, and her daughter Susan in 1985, NBCAM has made great strides both by increasing early detection of this disease and erasing the stigma that was once attached to it.

This golf accessory set by Nicole Miller is one of dozens of pink ribbon golf items available, where a portion of each sale goes to help cure breast cancer. We’ll be featuring more of them throughout October. Pink Ribbon items make great holiday gifts.

Another Footjoy Sweepstakes

Last week we wrote about Footjoy’s daily sweepstakes for a pair of USA MyJoys golf shoes. This week Footjoy has announced a sweepstakes for a patriotic “My USA” golf glove.

To enter, simply complete the sweepstakes form on their Web site between now and June 29. You must be at least 18 years old and a US resident to enter.

Footjoys is giving away golf shoes–one pair of “USA My Joys” per week from now until July 6. To enter, simply visit their Web site and complete the form. Both men’s and women’s shoes are available, with red or blue accents. You can enter once per week. The sweepstakes is limited to residents of the United States and you must be 18 or older to enter.

Just in time for holiday gift season, a number of golf shoe manufacturer’s have announced their new lines. Below are our choices for the most stylish of the women’s shoes for 2008:

Adidas offers these sturdy, pastel shoes called “Paragon.” They’re made to last and are just $60. Available in sizes 5-11.

How can you not love a shoe called “Madison Papaya” (pictured at right)? These flashy shoes are by Sandbaggers and retail for $124. Sizes 5-11.

These tan and white golf shoes from Ecco come in sizes 5 to 12 1/2. They retail for $160.
