Atlanta to Lose PGA Tournament

Atlanta, which has hosted a PGA tour event since 1967, has seen its last PGA tournament…at least for a while. The Atlanta Classic Board, which oversees the event, announced this week that it has been unable to find a title sponsor since AT&T withdrew its support of the Atlanta Classic last year.

There’s more to Golf this Week than Torrey Pines

Although it’s exciting to watch Tiger Woods make his 2008 debut, and try to gain the lead, at Torrey Pines this week, the Buick Invitational being played there is not the only golf event this weekend.
The European Tour is in Qatar, on the Persian Gulf, competing in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters Tournament. The four-day event, at the Doha Golf Club, ends Sunday. Currently Johan Edfors from Sweden is leading the pack.
