Daly Considering European Tour
John Daly, the two-time major champion whose been in the news lately more for his antics than for his golf, told the Associated Press this week that he’s considering joining the European Tour for the 2009 season. Daly, who has blamed his less than stellar performance of late to a rib injury, made just five cuts in 16 events this year, earning $56,017. His world ranking plummeted #737.
The 42-year-old Daly says that he is hoping to make a few PGA Tour events also, if tour organizations and sponsors are willing to give him exemptions. He also indicated that he is on a new plan to watch his weight and his hard-partying ways.
