Tony Romo Misses Qualifying for the US Open Again

May 14, 2008 by Sandy Mitchell

Tony

Dallas Cowboys quarterback (and Jessica Simpson’s main squeeze), Tony Romo was just one of the celebrity athletes trying to qualify for the 2008 US Open. Unfortunately, his 2008 bid came four strokes short this week in the regional qualifying tournament in Irving, Texas. This is the second time Romo, an avid golfer, has attemped to qualify for the Open.

The 28-year-old Romo won’t be selling his golf clubs, however. He intends to play in the Celebrity Golf Association’s American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, Nev., with fellow athletes John Elway, Michael Jordan, Mario Lemieux, and Emmitt Smith.
