PGA Free Fitting Month

PGA Free Fitting Month

April is free club-fitting month at golf courses all over the United States. Take advantage of a 15-minute session with a participating club pro. Clubs taking part in the program are listed on the PGA Web site. You can search for the clubs nearest your zip code.
A 15-minute session won’t prepare you for the PGA Tour, but it’s a great way to learn a little more about the game and see if you’d like to invest in a full club-fitting.

Daly Withdraws from Shell Houston Open

John Daly, who it may be charitably said is having a challenging season, withdrew yesterday from the Shell Houston Open after scoring a double bogey on the par-3 16th hole (his 7th hole in the round), citing a back injury. Daly, who was playing on a sponsor’s exemption, was very likely going to miss the cut.
This was the 9th start for Daly this season. The fan favorite backed out of the Bob Hope Classic with a rib injury, missed four cuts, and with asked to withdraw from the Arnold Palmer Invitational after he missed his Pro-Am tee time. …read more

Ailing Adam Scott Leads Houston Open

Ailing Adam Scott Leads Houston Open

Adam Scott
Defending champion, Adam Scott drug himself out of bed yesterday despite a fever and swollen glands to play the first round of the Houston Open. Presumably, he’s glad that he did, having set a course record with a 9 under 63 and taking an early lead in the tournament. Still ailing, he went directly to see the course doctor after the round. Just think what he would have shot if he were 100 percent.
The 27-year-old Scott also made Green Posse’s list of the top 8 hottest players on the PGA Tour earlier this year.
