Chef Paul Hit by Bullet on Golf Course
Are they crazy in New Orleans or just on golf courses? Noted Cajun chef, and New Orleans native, Paul Prudhomme was doing prep for his part of the celebrity food event at this week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans when he thought he’d been stung by a bee. Instead, a .22-caliber rifle bullet fell out of his right sleeve. YOW!
Jefferson Parish authorities said told the Associated Press that it was likely that the chef was hit by a descending bullet fired within 1 1/2 miles of the course. Chef Paul required minimal medical attention and was back cooking within five minutes.
Prudhomme who became nationally known as the first American executive chef at New Orleans’ famous Commander’s Palace restaurant went on to open K-Paul’s Kitchen in New Orleans and write a number of Cajun cookbooks.
