Legally Blind Golfer, 92, Gets Hole-in-One

February 5, 2008 by Sandy Mitchell

This is one of those stories you just have to love. And for all of us who are still waiting for our first hole-in-one, it’s inspiration, of some kind.

On January 10, Leo Fiyalko was out golfing with his buddies at Cove Cay Country Club in Clearwater, Florida. Mind you, Fiyalko is 92 years old and has macular degeneration that has left him with very limited eyesight. He can, however, still hit the ball. On the fifth hole, he drilled his tee shot and aced the hole, his first hole-in-one in 60 years of playing golf.

The country club presented him with a plaque to commemorate the day.
