Up and Coming Golfers: Brandt Snedeker
January 6, 2008 by Sandy Mitchell
Brandt Snedeker is starting his second year on the PGA tour and already coming to the attention of broadcasters and golf fans. The 26-year-old, Vanderbilt University graduate is in the hunt in the Mercedes-Benz Championship this week in Maui.
Last year, his first on the tour, he made the cut in 23 or 29 events, won the Wyndham Championship, and finished in the top 10 in five other tournaments. He ended the season at number 20 in the FedEx Cup standings–not bad at all for his rookie season.
Snedeker comes from a golfing family. His grandmother managed a course in Missouri where both he and his older brother, Haymes acquired a passion for the game. Haymes, an all-SEC golfer at Mississippi, caddied for his brother in the U.S. Open.

I thought Mr. Snedeker done a wonderful job at the Masters, and he can hold his head very high. One day he will win a Major Championship, because he is a special golfer that the PGA is lucky to have. Brant I love the way you play, and I wish you the very best.
Thanks for visiting Bill.
I agree, for a second-year tour player, it’s incredible that he had such a good score at the Masters. I think we’ll definately be hearing more from Snedeker.
