The Presidential Candidates: Do They Play Golf?
January 12, 2008 by Sandy Mitchell
Sure, you know where they stand on the war and about health care, but the leading presidential candidates are rather quiet on the subject of golf. Still with a little digging, I’ve been able to flush out the golfers of the bunch.
Barack Obama – He’s been seen on a course or two in the last few years, including Hawaii’s Waialae Country Club.
Hillary Clinton - I think she’s content to let Bill be the golfer in the family.
John Edwards – No mention in the press about his playing golf, but as a lifetime Carolinian, it’s difficult to believe that he hasn’t played a round or two.
Dennis Kucinich – Dennis doesn’t even go outside much, let alone play golf. Besides, Cleveland weather leaves a short playing season.
Mike Huckabee – No golf, but he is training for the Boston Marathon.
John McCain – Plays an occasional round or two.
Mitt Romney – Plays occasionally, but according to his son’s blog, he plays badly.
Rudy Giuliani – The true golfer in the bunch, Giuliani has played all over the country and in 20 countries as well. His son, Andrew, played golf for Duke University and his wife is an avid golfer.

Two4One – Possible candidate (and uber richguy) Mike Bloomberg AND Barack Obama were overheard talking golf to the exclusiong of almost all else recently when they met for lunch in NYC.
Interesting! I wonder when either finds time to play.
Yeah, I hear Mike Bloomberg is a member at Tucker’s Point Club in Bermuda. And plays quite often. Not a candidate yet, but who knows
How about past presidents? Who plays golf?
Ford, Nixen, Eisenhower all come to mind. Clinton plays occasionally. I’ll have to see who else I can find.
