2008 US Women’s Open

Now that we’ve all recovered from the Men’s US Open and Tiger’s withdrawal from the season following the tournament, it’s time to look at the US Women’s Open, being held this week at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minnesota (just outside of Minneapolis).
Twelve-year tour veteran, Cristie Kerr will attempt to defend her 2007 title, something that no one has been able to do in the 42-year history of the tournament. She’ll be part of a 156-woman field that includes Lorena Ochoa, Morgan Pressel, Paula Creamer, 2003 winner Hilary Lunke (pictured above), Natalie Gublis, and Annika Sorenstam.
Interlachen is a par 73, 6789-yard course. The tournament will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Wednesday, ESPN on Thursday and Friday, and on NBC on Saturday and Sunday.
