Guess Who Made the Wachovai Championship?

I guess miracles do happen. Tommy (Two Gloves) Gainey, a recent participant from the Big Break on the Golf Channel became the first Big Break contestant to qualify for a PGA tour event. Gainey has a somewhat unorthodox swing, but it works very effective for him, and he also likes to play with golf gloves on both hands, hence the nickname, Two Gloves.

For those unfamiliar with Gainey, he was on the Big Break IV series, U.S. vs. Europe, and though he didn’t win, he made it quite far and almost pulled off the impossible by chipping on the 18th at St. Andrews, after blading his approach shot across the green and into a parked van. He’s currently on the most recent version of the Big Break, the Reunion series, and he’s made it to the final four in this episode.

Gainey made into the week’s Wachovia Championship by shooting a 67 to get into a four-man playoff, which he then won to make into the tournament.
