Vijay Looking Strong
It’s only one round into the 2007 season, but Vijay Singh is already looking like the Vijay of a few years ago, when he took the number one ranking from Tiger Woods. Singh isn’t running away with the Mercedes Benz Championship by any stretch, but he’s swinging with lots of confidence and the putter looks comfortable again.
Davis Love III is also showing signs of his old self as well. Maybe these forty-something guys are the ones that will give Tiger some heat this year. On a different note, the team of Kelly Tilghman and Nick Faldo seem to have their work cut for them. Tilghman didn’t come across with lots of confidence in the first telecast of the year, so I’ll chalk it up to nerves. In fact, I thought Mark Rolfing carried the broadcast almost by himself, and in the process did a great job.
We’ll see what the weekend brings.
