Tiger One Back at Target World Challenge
Tiger Woods trails Geoff Ogilvy by one shot heading into Sunday’s final round of the Target World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, California. This is another select-field, silly-season event that comprises 16 of the world’s best players at one of the best non-PGA layouts in the country.
Woods is extremely fortunate to only be trailing by one, simply because he left his approach shots in some of the worst places on the golf course. He was in the trees, in the rocks, blocked by fallen wood chips, in the long rough, and he still managed a 2-under 70. But Woods wasn’t the only player having a difficult time as Stenson, Ogilvy and DiMarco also had a tough go on some holes, like Tiger, they all managed to escape and have a chance at winning tomorrow.
In fact, it’s not unusual at all for the winner to come from behind in this tournament, and I’d say Casey, Stenson, DiMarco, Toms, and Woods all have legitimate chances of winning the tournament.

I agree this is a silly event really, but not “silly” for the players when you consider the last man still gets $170,000. I thought Daly would scoop this, but as long as he doesn’t repeat another 77 or worst I’m confident he will miss this wooden spoon.
Lets hope it gets tight down the stretch and we see some exciting golf.
