Scott Wins Tour Championship
Adam Scott closed the deal today and win the PGA’s Tour Championship by 3 shots over Jim Furyk. Scott took control early in the day and had a pretty easy time of it in the end. The 2006 PGA season is now officially over and all that’s left are silly season events and guaranteed money type events that are meant to line the pockets of the world’s best players.
Look for the hype to begin for the 2007 FedEx Cup Championship season fairly quickly if you watch the Golf Channel. I’m going to make a prediction and say that the FedEx Cup will not exist after 3 years in the format it’s currently in. I just don’t see the PGA’s top players putting a lot of priority in the “Cup race”. It’s all about majors for the elite golfers, and if Players Championship can’t compete against the majors, how can a made-for-tv event compete?
