Miyazato Leads ADT Championship
Ai Miyazato is leading after the first round of the LPGA’s ADT Championship in West Palm Beach, Florida. Miyazato shot a 4-under 68 and leads Karrie Webb by one, and Natalie Gulbis by two. Since this the LPGA’s first playoff-style tournament, there are some very nervous players heading into Friday’s cut-day.
After Friday’s round, the field will be cut to the top 16 and right now Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa are on the outside looking in as they shot +2 and +3 respectively. Should they miss the cut, it would be a huge blow to the tournament sponsors and the LPGA and would hammer home the very real possibility that the same thing can happen next year at the FedEx Cup.
