Granada Crashes ADT Party

Julieta Granada shot a bogey-free 68 today and won the LPGA’s ADT Championship and the $1 millon first prize. After three days of exciting golf, today’s golf was anti-climatic because it really didn’t turn into the shootout that everyone was hoping for. However, Granada played a very solid round of golf and let those falter around her.

Lorena Ochoa was only 1 back as she went to the 17th tee but then her tee shot into the water hazard. Karrie Webb was next to hit and she also hit into a water hazard, and both players were all but eliminated at that point. Surprisingly Paula Creamer was never a factor today considering that all the players started even and I thought she might put together a really good round to close out the season.

The LPGA is onto something with this type of playoff format and I hope the PGA takes notice.
