How interesting that a couple of weeks after Tom Pernice voiced his opinion about the next year’s FedExCup playoff system, the shirts at PGA central magically implemented almost exactly what Pernice suggested. Now, Pernice is a former member of the Player’s committee so he does have some pull and influcence, but you gotta wonder if the fact that Woods and Mickelson both skipped out on the Tour Championship might have weighed on his mind a little as well.

Annika Sorenstam was quoted as saying she’s “disappointed” with her 2006 season. Losing the Player of the Year and now the Vare trophy is a double-shot to the gut for the reigining queen of the LPGA. Sorenstam is far from being over-the-hill, but the young talent on the LPGA has stepped up and will continue to challenge her until she retires.
